We've just put the final touches to our new photo gallery system together. Unlike the previous system, you'll now find thumbnails for each gallery as well as the same categorised sorting system that our videos use. By far the biggest benefit, is enough room for a decent description of the gallery and per photo annotations! You'll also find full resolution images available, should you need them. To spring board our new system, there are two galleries available - one of the York Cycle Show and another of the Road Safety event in Feltham. Enjoy!
We're doing so many shows at the moment that they are all starting to roll into one! With temperatures as they are, the sun has made things hard work - to the point of wondering which we prefer riding in - rain, snow, or sun! If you didn't catch us at BugLovin 2008, be sure to join us at the Merrist Wood Summer Show on May 18th, or the All American Festival on May 24th-26th!
This weekend, we were training the locals of Corsham in the art of trials. Riders came from all sorts of backgounds - BMX, jumps, road, and everyone came away riding at a higher standard than when they came in. This was our first indoor training session, and with the use of rubber mats and feet, the floor was unmarked at the end of the day. Riders had fruit and water available throughout the day and went away with a goody bag, which included 10% off the purchase of a bike with Tarty Bikes. Perhaps it is time you considered getting some advanced bicycle handling lessons? Check out the pictures here.
The good weather has finally arrived, bringing with it our 2008 season bikes, courtesy of Tarty Bikes. This has the added benefit of extra bikes for people to use at our training sessions. Dates are filling up fast, so if you're still after some entertainment for your event, looking at getting involved in a new sport, or sorting out this years office team building day, get in touch today!
As Christmas is creeping up at a worryingly fast pace, we felt we should get our well wishes out of the way early. So Merry Christmas, Seasons Greetings and Happy Holidays from everyone at thinkbikes.com!
Whilst out and about, many people stop to take photos - usually with their mobile phones, and rudely, usually without asking. Jonathan Cook of rebelshots.co.uk took some really top knotch shots of us the other day and allowed us to display them on the site. They were taken in the pouring rain, on a single obstacle, but he really managed to capture the spirit of the evening. If anyone else has any shots of us at a demo, or out on the street - we'd love to hear from you.
Another great competition thanks to the Essex Bike Trials Club (EBTC), once again at our local off road club in Penshurst (PORC). We've put up a few photos, to give a taste for the day - whether you were there or not!
Some more pictures for your enjoyment, this time from the British Championship round in Hook Woods. It was a great day, with a huge turn out! Hopefully, we'll be seeing some of the kids we've been training recently at some of the next events.
If we've visited your school this week, you are probably wondering where the permissions forms are, so you can take part in the Corsham Alternative Sports Event! All details can be found on their website. It's free to everyone, so if you want to spectate any of the sports on show (including trials) and get free training - it's worth turning up.
Thanks to PHPList and some hefty modification, we now have a mailing list/newsletter up and running. There are five separate lists inside this, so can you be told when new videos are launched, or just for special offers on demos and training. Take a look and if one of them interests you - sign up. You can add or remove lists at any point, or even unsubscribe entirely.
I've just finished putting up a few more pictures online - this time of a Sunday London Ride. Riders include Spode, Rob Larkins, Andrew Chai and Tim Rodriguez.
For anyone who came to see us at the Merrist Wood Summer Show, or the Cumbria Constabulary Bikesafe event, you'll be pleased to know we've just finished editing the small amount of video footage we aquired and put it online. You can find these in our videos section.
A small update to the site today. We've added some desktop wallpapers to spice up your computer with. We're also launching a new training scheme - so if you're new to the sport and interested in getting some lessons on handling your bike properly, while also getting a 10% discount from our sponsors tartybikes.co.uk then check it out!
If you are interested in extreme sports as a whole, then be sure to pop down to Corsham on September 22nd, where the Corsham Alternative Sports Event is taking place. Amongst us you'll also find, BMX, Parkour, Power Kiting, Triball, Wall Climbing, Skating, Skateboarding and Ultimate Frisbee. It's completely FREE to come and see, so if you're witihin a 100 miles radius, you've got no excuse for not coming down!
Hello to anyone who came to see us at the East Fortune Airfield this weekend. The day went very well, and we got some great photos. Some wet weather spoilt the last demo of the day, but we carried on regardless. We've also put a couple of new videos online, "Mind The Gap" and "Something Cryptic".
If you're a trials rider, you'll be pleased to know our sponsors Tarty Bikes currently have an excellent deal on the excellent Simtra ST-1 frame (as used by Spode and Rob) for only £299.99. If you are looking for a good frame with rear disc support, this is probably the only frame on the market worth considering.
Last weekend was a rarity, where we weren't running around the country performing demos. So we took to Penshurst Off Road Club, Or PORC as it's better known, to take part in one of the Essex BikeTrials Competitions (EBTC). Much fun was had by all, followed by some lake jumping. We've put some pictures, including the comical lake jumping up in the galleries.
This weekend we made a trek up to Carlisle for the Cumbria Constabulary Bikesafe event. There was a good turn out and despite the occasional downpour, the weather didn't cause us a problem. We've put a few photos up in the gallery, for anyone who happened to be there.
Although the new site is not quite ready, we have decided to partially launch it and we will add new features as and when they are ready. You may notice our new video listing system, with videos nicely categorised. Very soon, you will be able to add your own videos to this with ease. Equally, you will be able to register and add in your own rider profile. At the moment data is incomplete and things aren't quite in place. However, the main reason for doing this, is to promote our new referral system. So if you fancy earning a £50 Tarty Bikes voucher, take a look!
